Wiki Loves Africa is a photographic, video and audio contest.
The 2024 theme is Africa Creates.
Upload your entries from 1st March until 30th April to Wikimedia Commons.
There are prizes to be won for jury selected quality photographs!

Out of the millions of subjects you can read about on Wikipedia, those that relate to Africa have the least coverage. This is due to a number of reasons, but some are linked to the fact that many people do not know that they can have the knowledge of their continent and cultures reflected on Wikipedia by donating their images, videos and audio to Wikimedia.
The richness, diversity and beauty of Africa deserves to be visually celebrated on Wikipedia.
YOU can help to do this. Its super simple and everyone is welcome to participate!
What should YOU contribute? Pictures! Audio! Videos!
The theme Africa Creates calls for the submission of media (photos, audio, video) representations of the process of creation or manufacture, and not on the final product itself. If the final product is featured, please do not make it the central focus of the image or video.

- Create a free account or log in on Wikimedia Commons.
- Consult our How to Enter page for useful advice on everything relating to the competition.
- Make sure you follow the rules of the competition (otherwise your image might not be eligible!)
- Upload your photos – from the 1st March 2024 onwards!
Important
Entered images or media must visually capture the theme as it applies to "Africa".
To be considered, entries must be submitted under a free license (read about licenses here).

There are several prizes up for grabs for quality entries: both at a national and international level. For national prizes, see what local organisers have planned in your country.

Selecting the Winners
The winners will not be selected until July 2024. They will be announced in August 2024 at Wikimania.
